You've built your integration, and now it's time to take it live. This guide walks you through testing and going live with your Kuda Business API integration.
User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Before going live, make sure everything works. That is what User Acceptance Testing is for.
Complete initial testing: Test each service and check that you get the right responses.
Initiate UAT: Reach out to the Kuda team to start the UAT process. This joint testing confirms you have integrated and tested all API behaviours.
Run through test cases: Work with the Kuda team to test each scenario one by one, looking for problems or unexpected behaviour.
Document and fix issues: Any issue found is documented, and we work with you to fix it.
Final approval: Once all tests pass and you are satisfied, we give you the go-ahead for the next stage.
Thorough testing now means fewer problems later.
Preparing for Go-Live
Run through this checklist before you switch to Live Mode:
Make sure you have a Kuda Business account. If not, get one here.
Read, accept and sign all agreements and documents for your integration. You can find them on our Sign-offs & Agreements page.
Change your "dummy" trade name to your internal app trade name and update your webhook URL. This is crucial for generating virtual accounts.
Complete UAT with the Kuda support team.
Run sanity checks on your system before switching to Live.
Get your live credentials (see the next section).
Update all API endpoints to point to the live environment.
Set up monitoring and alerts.
Prepare your customer support team for questions.
Switching to Live Mode
Use a desktop or laptop for the best experience.
Sign in to your Kuda Business dashboard and select Business API in the left menu.
Find the Go Live toggle at the top of the page. The bar under the tabs shows whether you are on Test Mode or Live Mode.
Turn on Go Live. Only a Super Admin or Admin can change it. Anyone else sees RESTRICTED ACCESS and the toggle does not change.
The first time you go live, a GOING LIVE window asks you to confirm. After you confirm, a short countdown runs and Postman opens.
After you have gone live once, later switches save straight away with no confirmation window.
Check the bar again. A green dot next to Go Live means your account is live.
Obtaining and managing live credentials
Now swap your test credentials for live ones:
Open the Business API section on the web app to get your credentials.
Switch to the production URL:
https://kuda-openapi.kuda.com/v2.1. Update your integration to use it.Generate a new API key from the API Keys tab for the live environment. A new key replaces your previous key, so update every integration that used the old one.
Get a bearer token: request a new bearer token to authenticate in the live environment.
Test the live environment:
Call the LIVE bank list service.
Test all financial and non-financial attributes.
Store your live API key securely. It is the key to your account.
Update your systems: replace every test API key and URL with the live ones.
Check that your environment settings match Live Mode, so all API calls go to the right place.
Note: When you switch between environments, your credentials change. Always check your account for the latest credentials and update every place your integration uses them.
Common issues and troubleshooting during go-live
Connection issues
Check that you are using the correct live API endpoints.
Check your internet connection and firewall settings.
Authentication errors
Make sure you are using the live API key, not the test one.
Check that your bearer token is valid and has not expired.
Unexpected responses
Compare the response format with the API documentation.
Check for recent API updates.
Performance issues
Monitor your API call volume and check whether you are near any rate limits.
Reduce unnecessary API calls.
Data discrepancies
Check that all test data is cleared from your systems.
Double-check the data you send in your requests.
If you hit an issue you cannot resolve, contact our support team.
