At Kuda, we've made it quick and easy for freelancers and small-scale business owners to open a business account. Follow these simple steps to get started with your Kuda Freelancer Account:
Before you start
You’ll need:
A mobile phone that can run the Kuda Business app
Your BVN details (for verification)
A valid NIN
Your business information (category, address details, etc.)
Address verification for Freelancer accounts is completed via OkHi in the Kuda Business mobile app only
Step 1: Download the Kuda Business App
Visit your device's app store (Google Play Store for Android or App Store for iOS).
Search for "Kuda Business".
Download and install the app.
Step 2: Sign Up
Open the Kuda Business app.
Follow the prompts to:
Take a selfie
Confirm your BVN
Enter your login email and create a password
Provide your personal information
If your device supports passkeys, you’ll be prompted to create one.
Make sure all details you enter are accurate and up to date.
Step 3: Choose "Freelancer Account"
On the next screen, choose Freelancer Account.
Step 4: Provide KYB Information
We’ll ask for a few things to verify your business. Keep these handy:
Valid NIN
Your business information
Business address details (you’ll verify this through OkHi in-app)
Address verification via OkHi
To verify your address:
Go to your dashboard in the Kuda Business app.
Tap the Address verification task.
Complete the OkHi steps to verify your address.
Note:
Address verification can’t be completed on web—please use the mobile app.
Location access must remain enabled during verification.
You may be required to complete address verification before you can be given an account number.
Data is only used for verifying your address.
Step 5: Review and Submit
Double-check all the information you've entered.
If everything looks correct, submit your application.
