Address Verification with OkHi

1. Who uses OKHI for address verification?

Address verification through OKHI is available for both Freelancer and Full Business accounts. Instead of uploading a utility bill, your address is verified using your location data.

2. Why wasn’t I asked to upload a utility bill?

If your address is being verified through OkHi, you won’t need to upload a utility bill. OKHI verifies your address using location data instead of documents.

3. Does my address verification update automatically?

Your verification status is updated once the process is completed. If your address is successfully verified, your account review will be completed automatically.

4. Why does my account show “Account in Review”?

If you see “Account in Review”, it means your address verification is still being processed. You’ll be notified once the verification is completed.

5. How long does address verification take?

For Freelancer accounts, Okhi Digital verifications done on the App takes about 72 hours.


For Full Business accounts operating from a separate location/business address, physical verification will be carried out, so expect our physical verification agents within 48 hours if you're in Lagos and within 2 weeks if you're outside Lagos.

For Full Business accounts operating from home, you will only need to go through the OkHi Address verification from your mobile App which will be completed within 72 hours.

6. What happens if my address verification fails?

If the verification fails, you’ll be notified in the app. Full Business and Freelancer accounts are to retry directly in the App via OkHi.

7. What do the different verification statuses mean?

  • Verified: Your address has been successfully confirmed.

  • In Progress: Your address verification is still ongoing.

  • Not at Address: We couldn’t confirm that you were at the provided address.

  • Unknown: We couldn’t retrieve enough information to verify the address.

  • Cancelled: The verification process was cancelled.

8. What should I do if my verification status is “In Progress”?

No action is needed from you. The verification process is still ongoing.

9. Can address verification be completed faster?

No, the verification process cannot be sped up. Please wait until it is completed.

10. Can I change my address after it has been verified?

Yes. If you need to update your address after verification, you can contact support and you’ll be guided through the address update process.

11. Can I complete OKHI address verification on the web?

No. OKHI address verification can only be completed in the mobile app. If you start on the web platform, you’ll be routed to mobile to complete address verification.

12. Do I need to keep my location turned on during verification?

Yes. Your device location must remain turned on throughout the verification process for OKHI to confirm your address successfully. Turning off your location may interrupt the verification.
