Address Verification for Existing Customers

Written by Ifeoluwa. A

We’ve updated how address verification works for Kuda Business customers. If you’re an existing Freelancer or Full Business customer, here’s what’s changing and what you'll need to do.

What changed?

For address verification, we now use OkHi in the Kuda Business mobile app.

  • You’ll need to complete address verification through OkHi before you can reach (or keep moving toward) Tier 3.

  • Utility bill upload is no longer accepted as the way to start Tier 3 address verification. (If your address verification is rejected, Freelancer accounts may be asked for a supporting document as part of resolving that specific rejection; Full Business accounts retry through OkHi.)

  • Address verification can’t be completed on the web. If you start on the web, you’ll be routed to the mobile App.

How does this affect existing customers?

Some existing customers may need to verify their address again if:

  • Address verification was never completed, or

  • There’s a pending/legacy address verification request.

If you’re in this group, after updating your Kuda Business app, you may notice:

  • Your KYC completion progress may show 75%

  • An Address verification task on your dashboard

Important note

  • If your KYC progress shows 75%, it does not mean your account has been downgraded. It means address verification needs to be completed under the updated process.

  • If your business operates from home, you will complete OkHi digital address verification from your mobile App.

  • If no (separate business location), you’ll complete OkHi physical address verification, which will require an address verification agent to visit your address within 48 hours if you're in Lagos and within 2 weeks if you're outside Lagos.

(Note: This is best if you do not reside at your business address)

What you need to do

  1. Update your Kuda Business app.

  2. Open the app and go to your dashboard.

  3. Tap the Address verification task.

  4. Follow the OkHi steps to verify your address.

Will my limits change?

Your limits won’t change immediately just because you need to complete address verification.

If we’re unable to verify your address after 30 days, your limits may be reviewed.
