How it works
The selfie check includes two steps:
Liveness check – makes sure you’re physically present and taking the selfie in real time
Face match – compares your selfie with your BVN photo to confirm your identity
What to expect
Your camera will open with simple on-screen instructions
You may be asked to adjust your position or lighting
Most checks are completed within seconds
What happens next
Passed – You can continue with your request
Failed – You’ll be asked to try again
In review – Sometimes we need a little more time. We’ll notify you once it’s complete

Common issues and quick fixes
Camera not working → Enable camera access in your device settings
Dark or blurry image → Move to a well-lit area and hold your phone steady
Face not clear → Keep your face centered and remove anything covering it (like hats or glasses, if possible)
Poor internet connection → Switch to a stronger network
Using a photo instead of a live selfie → Make sure you’re taking the selfie in real time

We keep your data secure with industry-standard security measures and use it for identity verification and fraud prevention.

The result of your verification (passed, failed, or in review)
Basic details about the attempt (like the time and date)
