As a bank, we need to know if you're a Politically Exposed Person (PEP). This helps us keep your money safe and follow the rules. Let's break down what this means for you.

What's a PEP?

A PEP is someone who has an important job in the government, or is close to someone who does. This could be you, a family member, or even a close friend.

Why do we ask?

We're not being nosy - it's the law. Banks need to take extra care with PEPs' accounts to prevent things like money laundering. Don't worry, it doesn't mean you've done anything wrong.

PEP categories:

  1. Close Associate: You're friends with or work closely with a PEP.

  2. Domestic PEP: You have an important government job in Nigeria.

  3. Family Member: You're related to a PEP.

  4. Foreign PEP: You have an important government job in another country.

  5. International Organisation: You work for a big international group.

  6. Prominent Public Functions: You've had an important role in government or similar organisations.

Not a PEP? No problem - just select that option.

Remember, your information stays between us. We use it to serve you better and keep your money secure.
